Lotos Yoga          Monday 8:45 a.m.

Mein Unterricht ist ein Mix, mal fließen wir sanft durch die Übungen, nutzen Yogahilfsmittel oder halten die Asana. Immer darauf bedacht einen Ausgleich für Körper und Geist zu schaffen. Achtsam zu üben und seine individuellen Grenzen zu akzeptieren, ist mir wichtiger als die Beine hinter dem Kopf zu verschränken. Korrekte Ausrichtung, Freude am Üben und aufmerksames Atmen sind Bestandteil meiner Stunde. Keine Vorkenntnisse erforderlich.
Lotus Yoga
My teaching is a mix; sometimes we will flow gently, use props, or hold the asana. Always with the focus to keep body and mind in balance. Practice with awareness and accept that your personal limitations are more important than to criss-cross your legs behind your head. Class focuses on correct alignment, practicing with joy, and observing your breathing. No previous knowledge of yoga required.

Sunset Yoga          Monday 6 p.m.

We delve into the myriad benefits of yoga practice through basic pranayama (breathing practices); yoga sequences emphasizing alignment, breathing, and conscious movement; and reflection on yoga philosophy as it applies in our practice and in our daily lives. We strive to make each class a well-rounded session that leaves every participant feeling relaxed, renewed, and well-nourished in body, mind, and spirit. Moderate intensity; some knowledge of yoga helpful but not required.

Awareness through Movement           Tuesday 6 p.m.                                                                             Wednesday 9 a.m.

Awareness through Movement classes are explorations of movement and awareness that bring about change in how we hold ourselves, our gait, posture, activities, and attitude. The classes, led by verbal instruction, consist of comfortable, easy movements that gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity. They attempt to make one aware of  habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities and to expand options for new ways of moving. Ultimately, the classes are about improving day to day activities and function.

They are generally appropriate for everyone from the athletically fit to those who are physically challenged. Please wear comfortable loose or flexible clothing. The classes last about 50 minutes, with time at the end for discussion and questions.

Gentle Flow Yoga          Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m.
 
Introductory level class, allowing for growth and variations as your personal practice progresses. Focus on principles of alignment in basic yoga poses. Introduction to meditation for stress reduction and introduction to yoga philosophy. No prior yoga experience necessary.

Rest & Renew Yoga                Tuesday 7:30 p.m.

In this class you will find your "adult naptime." Each class starts with a "self-massage" using various-sized therapy balls to release the soft tissue. This allows you to completely relax and rest in the Restorative Yoga poses that follow. A class involved 3 to 5 poses, supported by props to hold the poses for 5 minutes and longer. By practicing stillness you will recharge mentally & physically.

Gentle Yoga                      Wednesday 6 p.m.

Combines gentle yoga postures and easy breathing techniques designed to release the tension and stress we accumulate through our daily lives. Starting with more active poses, we progress to a slow, quiet practice, to encourage a deep, comfortable state of relaxation and ease in our bodies and minds. All levels welcome.

Lunch Yoga                       Thursday 1:15 p.m.

Yoga am Mittag ist ideal, um den Kopf durchzulüften und Energien für die zweite Tageshälfte zu mobilisieren. Wir beginnen mit Dehnungs- und Entspannungsübungen in Yin Yoga, um Körper und Geist abzuschalten und neue Kräfte tanken zu können. Im anschließenden aktiveren Lotos Yoga wird der Kreislauf wieder angeregt, der Körper gekräftigt und die Haltung verbessert.

Yoga at noon is perfect to clear your mind and to mobilize energies for the second half of the day. To unwind body and mind, and to get new energy, we will start with stretching and relaxation poses in Yin Yoga, followed by a more active part in Lotos Yoga to strengthen and align the body.

Meditation, Ritual, & Energy        Thursday 6 p.m.
Through meditation, light yoga, and breathing practices, each week's class evolves into a month-long journey around one aspect or theme. This will allow us to dive deep into the yogic understanding of the energy body and authentic self. We will explore how establishing simple ritual  and energetic balance can positively affect our health and vitality, while deepening our spiritual practices.

MindBody Yoga Flow                      Friday Noon
This class will bring peace to your mind and body through basic breathing techniques and simple yoga poses. It will help you to flow through your life with greater ease. We will work individually with each student to modify poses as needed. This is a beginner class; all are invited with any level of flexibility.
 
Saturday Morning Yoga          Saturday 9 a.m.
 
Designed to develop self-awareness through moderately challenging yoga poses & practices. Focus on strength, balance, and flexibility, within a framework of mental & emotional equanimity. Brief meditation period and readings from yoga and other spiritual texts that encourage us to take our practice from the mat into the world. Suitable for people with a basic understanding & practice of yoga.

For those who are new to the Iyengar approach to yoga, the workshop may help them better understand the connection between the mind and the body, with curiosity and willingness to explore new senstions, especially a deeper sense of expansion and contentment that comes from within. For those who have already experienced this modality, it will serve as a refresher and an encouragement to continue their practice. All levels of practice welcome.

Partner Yoga is an inventive approach to deepening your yoga practice. Participants practice yoga asanas (poses) in pairs, so each person mirrors their partner in the pose. The support of a friend in a pose, while you support them in the pose, allows for a unique experience of the effects this age-old practice has on our minds, bodies, and spirits. Participants need not register in pairs! All levels welcome.
*This is not yoga for couples! Any two people can work as a pair in this practice.*
