Intro to Tai Chi Monday 9 a.m.
Tai Chi is continuous, slow meditative movement & controlled breathing. It has its roots in Chinese healing & is widely recognized for its health & wellness benefits. Introduction to Tai Chi will consist of 6 classes designed to acquaint the student with Tai Chi practice and foundational movements in preparation for Sun & Yang styles of Tai Chi. After 6 introductory classes, the practice will be taught in series.
Sunset Yoga Monday 6 p.m.
delve into the myriad benefits of yoga practice through basic pranayama
(breathing practices); yoga sequences emphasizing alignment, breathing,
and conscious movement; and reflection on yoga philosophy as it applies
in our practice and in our daily lives. We strive to make each class a
well-rounded session that leaves every participant feeling relaxed,
renewed, and well-nourished in body, mind, and spirit. Moderate
intensity; some knowledge of yoga helpful but not required. This summer we are winding our way through a light overview of The Yoga Sutras.
Gentle Flow Yoga Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m.
Introductory level class, allowing for growth & variations as your personal practice progresses. Class focuses primarily on gaining familiarity with, and basic principles of alignment in, common yoga poses. Variations & options are offered & demonstrated to make traditional poses accessible to practitioners who are healing or have special considerations for their practice. Class includes mindfulness practices, yogic philosophy, & meditation for stress reduction. No prior yoga experience necessary.
Flow & Restore Yoga Tuesday 6:30 p.m.
Gentle Flow & Restorative Yoga. Feeling somewhat stressed? Like you are just a head walking around detached from the rest of your body? Overwhelmed & tired? This 75-minute class is for you. Expect a slow & gentle flow, stretching movements, some gentle breathing, self-massage, & deeply relaxing restorative yoga poses to get you back in your body in a short time. You will leave your mat feeling rested & restored.
Yoga Soup Wednesday 9 a.m.
If you love to explore
the variety of yoga forms and practices, this class is perfect for you! Join us
as we mix different styles of yoga to find release, strength, stillness,
energy, & joy. Enjoy and savor every
ingredient, every sip! All levels welcome.
Vinyasa Flow 2.0 Thursday 6 p.m.
If you are ready to venture beyond Gentle Vinyasa Flow, join us on Thursday evenings this summer. Although primarily an asana class (poses/physical practice), participants will explore all 8 Limbs of Yoga expanding their understanding & knowledge of Yogic philosophy. We will explore ethics, meditation, breath-work, the concept of the Energy Body & the relationship of these concepts to overall health. Participants can expect the physical practice to be more challenging & instruction to be more subtle than in a Gentle Vinyasa class. Familiarity with common pose names is suggested as we work toward more fluid transitioning in Sun Salutations & introduce variations to the traditional sequence. Most classes can be adapted to chair or wall variations. Each class includes brief discussion & extended Savasana or Yoga Nidra (final relaxation).

Myofascial yoga is a simple self-treatment method to eradicate aches, pains, & tightness. This technique brings oxygen to the tissues, increases circulation, & increases mobility by facilitating glide between the fascia & muscles. A variety of therapy balls help identify trigger points & relax them. These tight spots occur through overuse, underuse, or misuse. Myofascial yoga can increase your body awareness in your yoga practice & daily movements.
